Ancestral Health incorporates the best practices of traditional societies with modern medicine to prevent and treat chronic disease using lifestyle interventions. This includes (but is not limited to) nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, sunshine, positive social interactions, stress management, and a sense of greater purpose and meaning in life.

Physicians for Ancestral Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and promote awareness about Ancestral Health within the medical community worldwide, as well as the general public at large. By doing this, we hope to help create a community where both doctors and individuals are empowered to focus on long-term health rather than just the treatment of disease.

Welcome to Physicians for Ancestral Health

We seek solid scientific evidence for all healing practices, ancestral and modern, natural and pharmaceutical. All sources of evidence, from case studies to epidemiology to randomized clinical trials, should contribute to our judgment as physicians about the interventions that will most benefit our patients.

We respect our professional limits. We are physicians, not alternative medicine providers. We are not seeking to replace proven treatments, but to identify natural dietary, nutritional, and environmental interventions that can complement and improve standard medical therapies.

Model good health for our patients. Encourage physicians to incorporate ancestral health principles for both prevention and treatment of illness. Engage and support research activities to evaluate ancestral health assertions. Advocate for public policy change in support of ancestral health principles.
